This generation went back to the longer, wider fastback rear end, giving it a sporty look. The interior for this generation offers more legroom and a new instrument panel with twin display screens.

Being that this is a more modern vehicle, and it is aimed at fuel efficiency, it shouldn’t be a surprise that a hybrid is available. If you find yourself looking at one or just want to know more, this model can get pretty good mileage.

The hybrid has an EPA-rated 54 MPG, getting nearly 600 miles on one tank. This model is surprisingly efficient on the highway, unlike other hybrids that are better in the city. If you’re looking for a cross-country vehicle, this will be a good option as it gets 56 MPG on the highway.

When the 2023 models came out, so did an update. This saw the line get new colors and new safety features. These features are rear side-impact airbags and a rear seatbelt reminder. A new curved display also became available this year.

At launch, there were only two trims to pick from. The two trims were the SE and Limited. While it is sold as a compact, it classifies as a mid-size sedan.

If you find one that is equipped with the ECO trim package, then you’ll find that it comes with a smaller, yet more efficient engine. This package will be able to get you 35 MPG combined, getting almost 500 miles on one tank.

The SE trim from this generation sees fewer standard features compared to years prior. This trim does offer a 147 horsepower 2.0L I4 that is mated to a 6-speed automatic or manual transmission.

If you find a model that is equipped with the SE popular equipment package, then you’ll find that it comes with cruise control, automatic headlights, and phone connectivity.

If you find one that is also equipped with the Tech Package, you’ll be treated to a push-button start, hands-free trunk access, and a rear cross-traffic alert system.

Midway through the 2017 model year, the Sport hit the road. This had a more aggressive look, as well as dual chrome-tipped exhaust outlets. This model comes with a turbocharged 1.6L I4 engine that produces 201 horsepower. The most exciting part of this trim is the 6-speed manual that is offered.

To further the sporty feel, you’ll be treated to a flat-bottomed steering wheel, red stitching on the seats, shift boot, and steering wheel. The 18-inch wheels also come with larger front brakes.

The 2018 model added an option for a power sunroof and even blind spot monitoring, helping keep you and your family safe. In 2020, the Sport was discontinued.
